As doze nomeações para os Óscares fizeram sala cheia na sessão em horário primetime de “The King’s Speech”. Maravilhosamente realizado por Tom Hooper este filme persistente em encher a razão do silêncio de um monarca, George VI.

Este rei tinha um pequeno problema, gaguejava, e isso impedia-o de falar em público. Mas Lionel Logue sabe que não é só a gaguez que o impede, nesta voz persiste um passado, uma história, uma causa. Com os métodos pouco convencionais de Logue, a terapia começa e pouco a pouco o rei começa a inspirar confiança não só nele próprio como nos seus entes queridos. Entretanto, tempos difíceis aproximam-se com a ascensão da 2ª Guerra Mundial (e consequentemente o Nazismo). Por fim, chega o momento final a que toda a comunidade inglesa espera, o discurso do rei.

Apesar de existir sempre um grande filme puramente britânico na cerimónia dos Óscares creio que é desta que Colin Firth ganha a famosa estatueta dourada, Geoffrey Rush não lhe fica atrás e Helena Bonham Carter continua a ser uma senhora de carácter teatral impressionante. Achei a banda sonora curiosa, direcção de arte super adequada e um resultado final numa obra cinematográfica perfeita (tão perfeita que parece ser propositado). Uma biografia por excelência. Recomendo.

Vampires Suck e outras rábulas

Sempre que as paródias entram em cena ninguém compreende a 100% o propósito delas existirem mesmo que a conclusão óbvia seja fazer o ridículo do estigma de vários filmes. “Vampires Suck” foi o último filme que vi sobre tal assunto. Usando como plot principal o romance de Bella e Edward tudo gira em roda dos clichés da moda. Acho que este vale a pena ver pela interpretação “notória” da actriz Jenn Proske que de uma certa maneira apanhou o jeito de se exprimir como Kristen Stewart.

Exemplos disso são títulos como “Disaster Movie” e “Date Movie” sem esquecer os clássicos já com uma década de existência estou a falar de “Scary Movie” que liderou uma saga de spoofs directos e indirectos ao cinema que ainda hoje possui alguns fãs e também de filmes como “Not Another Teen Movie” e “American Pie” que expõe comercialmente os costumes de um típico adolescente americano. Talvez o género esteja para ficar mas verdade seja dita que nunca conheci (até à data) nenhum crente fanático por estes filmes…

A todo um estilo a que estamos tão bem habituados Jean-Pierre Jeunet sabe concerteza assinalar a sua presença no seu material de trabalho. O seu ultimo exemplar “Micmacs à tire-larigot” não deixa sombra de dúvida que existem mil e uma razões para amar o seu cinema. Contém as engenhocas dos meus sonhos. Bom Filme.

Uma homenagem a Luís Buñuel e Jean-Claude Carrière de Manoel de Oliveira. Um filme com Michel Piccoli, Bulle Ogier e Ricardo Trepa. Tudo composto em redor da mais bela representação fotográfica numa Paris a perder de vista.

Shirin

Intrigada com este trabalho de Abbas Kiarostami decidi ver e relatar por mérito próprio este filme. Nesta obra cinematográfica que disciplina a atenção e persistência do olhar, várias actrizes de cinema e teatro são espectadoras de uma representação teatral do poema sobre Khosrow e Shirin, uma história mitológica que remete ao mundo persa e conta de forma heróica o amor de Khosrow por Shirin. No desenvolvimento do filme só poderemos entender a acção através do rosto destas mulheres e dos sons que nos rodeiam trespassando o ecran. Uma simplicidade difícil de observar. Perdemo-nos nas suas feições e de um certo modo sentimos uma percepção diferente na história de Shirin e Khosrow.
